"Cause you start out stealing songs/then you're robbing liquor stores/and selling crack/and running over schoolkids with your car"
"SpiralFrog CEO Robin Kent argues that ad-supported, free music should combat the problem of piracy. The agreements with Universal and EMI "represent clear signs that the music industry recognizes the revenue potential of an advertising-supported business model that [offers] a high-quality alternative to illegal file-sharing sites which are often characterized by poor-quality music, missing song details and spyware," said Kent.
The free service now has two labels on board, including the one with the world's largest catalog. At this point, there is little for Warner Music Group and Sony BMG to lose by signing on, so don't be surprised to see their catalogs available at launch". (mere her)
